Global Birding is a large-format book that examines birdwatching around the world. It takes a continent by continent look and includes information about what types of birds and which particular species well-informed birders are usually most eager to see, and it also discusses how travelers from North America manage to bird in various regions. The book is illustrated with color photos of some of the world's most exotic birding sites and some of the bird species most eagerly sought by international birders. One emphasis of the book is on the wonder birders experience by leaving their usual domestic birding haunts and traveling to other countries, where almost every bird they encounter is a new, that is, never-before-seen, species.
